It's all in your mind.....

Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life.  If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted.  If you continue to act as you have always acted, you will continue to get what you have always gotten.  If you want different results in your life or your work, all you have to do is change your mind.   - Anonymous

This was the paragraph in Part I of Joyce Meyer's new book "Power Thoughts, 12 Strategies to WIN the battle of the mind"

I thought it was worth the reprint.

Awakening that rare bird...

I awoke this morning to chirping and singing of the robins in my yard. There were thousands! They were playing in the birdbath, hunting for worms in the yard, chasing each other in the trees. How blessed are we to enjoy a peaceful morning listening to the sounds of nature.

I so appreciate the "rare bird" inspiration Deb sent yesterday:

When you wake up in the morning remember what a Rare, Priceless,
Birds you are. God would never put your on this earth to be ordinary.
Soar on a daily basis.

Those were my thoughts this morning. I sat up in bed and prayed to thank God for this glorious day, my girlfriends and my very blessed life.

Now the lawn crew is here. All the birds are gone, scared off by the big, noisy mowers. My peace has been overtaken by machines and dust! Rather than being upset, I choose to be thankful they are here to do the work I can't or won't do. I am thankful we are able to provide jobs for several men who have families to take care of and I'm glad the yard will look better for our seminar and company this weekend.

This is the day that the Lord has made. I will be glad and rejoice in it!

Love and appreciation to all of you, Rhonda

Fake It Til You Make It!

From Jennifer Lee's blog - Works for me!
The other day I was talking to a VERY successful friend of mine. Let me clarify, she has a very successful business, strong marriage and loving family - yet, she still has "fears" that are limiting her ability to live a 100% successful and fulfilling life.

She is fearful of flying, speaking in public and making bold decisions...sound familiar?

Anyway, she told me how much she liked my "Be Bold" article from last week and has decided to not only to be BOLD this year, but to be "Barbara"...excuse me?

To help her get past her fears, she has decided to take on a pseudo name and persona. One that has no fear and goes for what she wants, no matter what.

She was recently asked to speak to hundreds of people about the success of her business - normally she would have declined, but this time she accepted, knowing that "Barbara" was going to take on the challenge.

I love it! It takes the edge off a bit and allows you the freedom to tackle a particular fear - let "Barbara" take a crack at it. Brilliant!

I'm not sure if this tactic is endorsed by the therapists out there - but I think this unorthodox way of looking at a difficult task may work for many folks - here's why.

Many of our fears have a "failure or rejection" component to them. We naturally do not want to be rejected or fail - it hurts, it tears away our value, it makes us question our abilities. If we step out and have "Barbara" take the risk and it doesn't work, it's not about us...it just didn't work. Perfecto!

Try it out...it works. Next time you are fearful about making a bold move or taking a risk - ask "Barbara" to make it for you. You'll be surprised how quickly you move forward. After all, you don't have anything to lose.

Now, Go For It!!!

Bear Bryant's Daily Devotional

This is the beginning of a new day.
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good.
What I do today is very important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever
Leaving something in its place I have traded for it.
I want it to be a gain, not loss - good, not evil,
success, not failure - in order that I shall not forget the price I paid for it.
